Producers Market producer and partner Franklin Baker Company took the time to answer our questions about coconut production on their plantations in the Philippines:
“Coconut trees are quite unique, because they are the only plantation crop to give harvest 8 times a year—or every 45 days. The trees receive minimal care (or sometimes none at all), and it’s mostly limited to clearing or weeding for ease of harvesting.
