When we launched Michoacan Organics, a Mexican avocado brand, almost seven years ago, we set out to discover innovative ways to bring the regenerative practices and pioneering vision of farmer Leonel Chavez and his friends and family to progressive consumers in the United States.
During this process, we discovered that people around the world were eager to learn about farmers, share their passion for agriculture, and satisfy their curiosity about the source of their foods and products.
We discovered a genuine appreciation amongst consumers for Leonel and his family’s work. And, we witnessed Leonel’s equally deep gratitude for the people who enjoyed his fruit and the abundance of his soil.
This relationship showed us the power of mutual admiration and respect, as well as the true essence of humanity and commerce. We saw a potential to build an unprecedented connection between farmers, fishermen, added-value producers, and their consumers—a connection that had been increasingly fading over the past 100+ years.
Sharing stories and connecting people is at the very core of Producers Market.
Building like-minded communities through intentional media is a key differentiation in our value chain digitization efforts and a central strategy for optimizing the impact of our StoryBird application and producer profiles.
